In this chapter we’ve covered the basic steps for adding and removing roles, role services, and features on Windows Server 2008. As we continue in the book, we’ll be using these same basic steps to install and configure the functionality we need in Windows Server 2008. An exception to this process is the new Server Core installation option of Windows Server 2008. Server Core uses different tools and has a more limited subset of available roles and features. In the next chapter we’ll cover the basic steps to installing and configuring Server Core, and also build some scripts to make it easier.
