Migrating Print Servers

If you need to replace an older print server or combine multiple print servers into one, you can use the Printer Migration Wizard or the Printbrm.exe command-line tool. You can export print queues, printer settings, printer ports, and language monitors and then import them to another print server.

Using the Print Migration Wizard

To use the Print Migration Wizard, follow these steps:

  1. Select Print Management from the Administrative Tools menu.

  2. In the Print Management tree, right-click the computer that contains the printer queues to export, and then click Export Printers To A File.
