Preparing for Print Server Failure

If at all possible, it is wise to have a secondary print server to back up the primary print server. When the primary print server fails, the administrator can send e-mail instructing users to choose ReserveServer2 (for example) for printing. This option is easiest for the administrator but, inevitably, some users have difficulty connecting to another printer. If you planned the print server downtime, you can use Print Management to deploy printer connections to the backup server and remove connections to the offline server.
