Shared Folders

As with most things in Windows Server 2008, there are several ways to configure and administer shared folders. You can right-click a folder in Windows Explorer and choose Share from the shortcut menu; you can use the Share And Storage Management tool from the Administrative Tools menu; or you can use the command line.

Each approach has its advantages, but using the command line is best for quickly creating or modifying a share. Using Share And Storage Management is best when you want access to more management functions in a single place.
