Using Microsoft Management Console 3.0

Microsoft Management Console (MMC) is the framework for displaying administrative tools that configure the hardware, software, and network components of Windows Server. These tools, called snap-ins, are created by Microsoft and other software vendors. Server Manager in Windows Server 2008 is an expanded instance of MMC. From a user’s point of view, the most obvious change in MMC 3.0 is the Actions pane, which replaces the old taskpad views, although you can still create taskpad views.
