Summary

AD DS is an essential part of the Windows Server 2008 enterprise network infrastructure, and maintaining it is a important part of the network administrator’s job. Although AD DS does not require a great deal of maintenance after it is deployed, you do need to spend time creating a backup and recovery plan and understand the procedures for performing tasks such as managing operation master roles and configuring auditing.

In the next chapter, we cover the basics of setting up and administering your TCP/IP infrastructure.
