The System File Checker is a command-line tool that verifies that the system has the correct versions of protected system files. If the System File Checker finds an incorrect version of a protected system file, it will retrieve the correct version from your Windows Server DVD or CD-ROM.
To use the System File Checker, log on locally as an administrator, open a Command Prompt window, and then type Sfc followed by the appropriate parameter. Table 37-2 describes the possible parameters.
