The restoration procedure that you use depends on the type of backup you initially performed. The following sections detail the procedures for restoring from a system state backup, a Windows server backup, and a manual backup.
With system state and Windows server backups, you must first determine the versions of the backups that are available and what types of restorations are available for the backups.
To determine the versions of backups available, you can run the wbadmin.exe command-line utility. The command wbadmin get versions displays all available backups available for restoration and what type of restorations are available, as shown in the following output from the command:
