Working with a Virtual Machine

Working with a Hyper-V VM is almost identical to working with a physical computer. You should do virtually everything you need to do from the client operating system, just as you would on a physical computer. You can connect to the client operating system using Remote Desktop when that is a supported option, and you can always connect using the Virtual Machine Connection. You can open the Virtual Machine Connection to a particular VM by either double-clicking the VM in the Hyper-V Manager console or by selecting it and then clicking Connect on the Action menu.
