Monitoring Security in Windows Vista

In Windows Vista, security-related options have been gathered in an application called Windows Security Center. Ordinarily, the only indication of this program’s presence is its shield icon in the notification area, which serves as a reminder that Security Center is on the job, monitoring your computer’s essential security settings. You can open Security Center by double-clicking its notification area icon (or clicking one of the messages that emanate from that icon when your computer’s security settings need attention). You can also open Security Center via its icon in Control Panel or by typing wscui.cpl at a command prompt. Figure 10-4 shows the various elements in Security Center.
