Intended Audience

Although the book uses many examples from the analytics and data science space, because that is my background, the concepts are valid for anyone presenting results that include technical information and data. Businesspeople, engineers, chemists, professors, doctors, sociologists, students, researchers, and others who create and deliver data‐driven presentations will all benefit from the book because the tips can be applied quite broadly.

For experienced presenters who are good at what they do, the book will be a terrific refresher and handbook. There will almost certainly be tips that even experienced presenters either didn't know or often forget to practice.

For people newer to presenting data‐driven information, the book will be an invaluable guide that will help you avoid learning the same lessons through the experience of making the mistakes yourself.

In an academic setting, professors can assign the book as support material for capstone classes or applied study programs that require delivery of project work.

In a team setting, giving difficult feedback to teammates is easier and less personal if you can say “It says in this book to do it this way” as opposed to “I don't think you should do it that way.”

By reading the book and then keeping it handy as a reference, readers of all experience levels and roles will greatly enhance the effectiveness of their own data‐driven presentations.
