Back in 2012, when the smartphone market was booming, it was believed that the nascent technology was under severe threat from malware. This at the time seemed to be a real threat as not only did OS vendors have to contend with more than merely identifying and mitigating the emerging threat of malware, they also had to try and educate their user base.
