Windows Phone 8.1 was the last specific version of the Microsoft smartphone OS. With the 8.1 release in 2014, Microsoft had pursued corporate acceptance with features that provide security and management control, mitigate data leakage, and offer protection from malware. Microsoft has also integrated security features such as BitLocker, Windows Defender, SmartScreen Filter, and user access control into the security architecture for its mobile devices.
