Women's alternative media in broadcasting and the Internet

This chapter shows that a major aim in women's professional and amateur experiments in radio, terrestrial and cable television, and the Internet as alternative ways of disseminating news has often been the development and sharing of skills in using new technologies. Echoing the themes of the previous two chapters, however, women have experienced various organizational, technical and financial difficulties in sustaining these initiatives.
