Youngsters watch professionals and see that it’s OK to showboat and belittle opponents. I believe performing with style and class is a first priority, especially if you’re in the public spotlight. If you’re in that position, you do have a responsibility.

That’s why it’s sad to hear someone like Charles Barkley say he’s not interested in being a role model for anyone. When you get into a profession that puts you in the limelight you have accepted that responsibility. It comes with the job.

Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but that’s the way I look at it. And I’m not likely to change.
