Note: The Word 2007 XML object model was designed to resem

ble the existing Microsoft XML (MSXML) parser document object
model. If you are familiar with the MSXML parser, you should find
the Word XML object model familiar and intuitive. In fact, Word
XML validation and parsing is done with MSXML in the back-
ground; Word 2007 uses Microsoft XML v5.0, an incremental
update to the existing Microsoft XML v4.0 (Microsoft XML Core
Services).
