Getting ready

Before we launch into the complexities of wrangling WordPress into CMS-readiness, we first have to get initial things set up.

For example, I've been using one blog as an example throughout the previous chapters. I installed the blog in Chapter 2, blogged with it in Chapters 3 and 4, developed a theme for it in Chapter 6, and expanded it in Chapters 7 and 8. For this chapter I'm starting over with a brand-new installation of WordPress, as that is what I expect you're likely to be doing as well. I also disabled commenting for the whole site and turned on permalinks.
