Chapter 6. Using Open Source Themes

In this chapter, we will focus on applying the techniques we have learnt in the first five chapters on open source themes. The theme we have chosen for this chapter is the default Twenty Ten theme that comes with all WordPress installations.

General idea

Let's quickly go through what we have done in order to create a PhoneGap application out of WordPress. In general, our strategy can be summarized as follows:

  1. Install WordPress and the JSON-API plugin.
  2. Build a web application that can read and write blog posts to our WordPress installation. We can choose to apply jQuery, jQuery Mobile, or any other JavaScript libraries that makes development easier.
