Over the next week, Jack’s staff started to inform their subordinates of the new metrics. Preceding that, Jack met with his staff and the layer of the organization below his staff. With them gathered around his wall of metrics, Jack said, “I need to come clean about something. About three weeks ago, I got a wake-up call.
