Abstract

Self-defense centers around the concept of measure and then countermeasure. Every attack can be blocked by the right countermeasure, done correctly at precisely the right time. But an ineffective block, one either too slow or overdone, can expose you to the attack or a follow-up attack.

Just as a martial artist needs to learn how to protect his or her vitals with blocks, so does a business. So far, we've identified the critical assets and the threats. Now we can put them together to calculate what risks can do the most damage. Then mitigation steps are selected based on the greatest vulnerability.
