Abstract
Just as karate black belts learn to use punches, they also learn to use kicks. Kicks are much stronger and more powerful and have a longer reach for targets outside the range of a punch. For business, those external threats outside of the inner circle can be stopped with the equivalent of kicks.
External threats to an organization come in many formats, some easily detectable or more obvious, such as burglaries or thefts. Others are not as easy to spot, such as the impact of spyware to learn proprietary information.
