Wynford Hicks has worked as a reporter, subeditor, feature writer, editor and editorial consultant for newspapers, books and magazines and as a teacher of journalism specialising in writing, subediting and the use of English. He is the author of English for Journalists, now in its fourth edition, Quite Literally: Problem Words and How to Use Them, and The Basics of English Usage.
