8.1 INTRODUCTION

The aim of this chapter is to give a summarized overview of the performance of XRF and related techniques discussed in this book and also to further outline the role of XRF as applied to the chemical analysis field. For such a purpose, a critical comparison of the analytical capabilities of XRF systems with other elemental techniques commonly used for elemental analysis is presented.
