Functional controls improve the user experience by categorizing information and actions. Functional controls include those that improve usability, such as menus and context menus as well as guidance controls such as tooltips, labels, and text blocks. They also include controls to monitor and control behavior, such as scrollbars, sliders, and progress bars.
