In this chapter we explored three different storage mechanisms that can be utilized for the guest domains:
- Files: These are simple file based virtual block devices that are very easy to get started with. They are great for testing, but are not recommended for production environments.
- NFS: These are remote file systems that can be exported and used by the Xen to boot guest domains. These require the setup of a remote NFS server that can export a file system. They are perform well and are widely used for setting up Xen domains.
- LVM: This is an enterprise grade storage mechanism that makes it very easy to resize, move, and reconfigure the storage to adapt to the changing needs of an enterprise, and is probably the most recommended production ...
