Chapter 21. DOM Level 2

Although the original DOM standard is a successful, well-established technology, it has been perceived to have some unnecessary limitations, and in particular does not support the Namespaces standard (see Chapter 10).

The DOM Level 2 standard is now in widespread use, but should not be considered if there is any possibility of using software that does not support this version. This chapter covers the core standard, the optional tree-walking and range selection components, but not the optional event-handling and styling components.
