This chapter covers just some aspects of the CTW framework. I sketched the basics of applying the XSLT transform to topic map code to generate the HTML required for Web presentation. I discussed the three basic layers involved, the XTM code itself, the XSLT code required for transformation, and the universe of Web resources referenced by the topic map. We also looked at how a taxonomy of topic types and topic characteristics can be used to control Web pages presentation and layout. The chapter discussed querying topic maps with XPath and XSLT but just somewhat touched this subject.
