Preparing for the Studio

There are several things you can do to save time and money, and ensure better results, before you take the band into a professional recording studio. A few tips:

  • Practice, practice, practice. This may sound like a cliché, but if everyone in the band knows what they need to play before they get into the studio, you will have much better results.

  • If you have prerecorded tracks you need to play with, bounce the tracks to a stereo mix that you can import into the studio’s system for monitoring. Since you’re using the tracks only to monitor, you will be able to go back to the original unbounced tracks later when you mix in your Cubase studio at home.
