Here’s a simple way of checking your fitness level. Find your resting heart rate by taking your pulse in the morning before you get up. Press your fingers on the main artery in the side of your neck, just below the jawbone. Using a watch with a second hand or a stopwatch, count the number of heartbeats in six seconds. Multiply this by ten to get your resting heart rate. Now, step up and down on a step or low bench, alternately leading legs for three minutes.
