One way to cut down
Make your own sandwiches – it’s the only way to be sure of what you’re eating. Many ready-made sandwiches contain more than 6 g of salt, which is the maximum total intake recommended per day. Almost half contain more than 2.5 g which is also considered high. Reducing our salt intake from the average 10 g we consume daily to 6 g could prevent thousands of strokes and heart attacks. Salt is also linked to water retention which makes you feel bloated and loads heavier. So it makes sense to cut down.
