Unlike laptop or netbook computers, the iPad does not contain a USB port that can be used to directly connect a printer or scanner to your tablet. However, built into iOS 6 is the AirPrint feature, as well as Bluetooth, which are two separate technologies that allow printers or scanners, for example, to wirelessly communicate with your tablet.
