The speed of human evolution requires a collective sense of the direction of travel. The best plan for regulation and politics is one based on realistic and proven technological innovation. We have to design our civil society to anticipate the inevitable changes caused by an expanding human population and accelerating climatic change.
This means we have to work out what kind of human we want to become and take responsibility for designing our own future. In the past, religion provided these guides but, for a lot of familiar reasons, this is unlikely to work today in a multicultural interconnected society. A ...
