Layout

Please take a look back at Figure 5.1 and 5.2. They show two screen shots taken from the ZF1 and ZF2 applications, respectively. They do not look the same, even though they should. This is due to the fact that I took the default, quick start, applications of both frameworks as my starting point. The ZF1 default application does not come with layout, while the ZF2 ZendSkeletonApplication does.

If you paid attention, you will have noticed that the configuration of our ZF2 Book module doesn’t mention layout; it is the layout of the default Application module that we see in action. For the view script, I took the ZF1 view script and stripped out the html, head, title, and body tags because those are already included in the layout.
