I have spent a great deal of time researching and writing about communication and technology. As such, I can make the following claim without fear of accurate contradiction: When it comes to those subjects, personal preferences vary.
Some people eschew actually talking to others at all costs. I’m talking about introverts, night owls, curmudgeons, misanthropes, and those who lack basic people skills. They’d rather go to the dentist than speak to another human being.
At the other end of the spectrum are loquacious individuals who need to talk about everything — even when sending a quick message would do the trick. These people generally fail to recognize that other viable communication methods exist.
