CCNA Routing and Switching 200-125 Crash Course
Published by Pearson
Get Ready to Crush the Cisco CCNA R/S 200-125 Exam
The Cisco Certified Network Associate in Routing and Switching (CCNA R/S) certification is one of the most popular certifications in the IT industry. Attainment of this certification not only lets hiring managers know that you’re comfortable working with Cisco routers and switches, but it also enhances and updates your current skill set.
Interestingly, there are two ways to earn your CCNA R/S certification: (1) Pass two individual exams (the CCENT 100-105 and ICND2 200-105 exams) or (2) Pass one composite exam (the CCNA R/S 200-125 exam). This course prepares you for whichever approach (i.e. the one exam or two exam approach) you choose.
Training will be held on:
- October 16, 18, 23 & 25, 2018
What you’ll learn and how you can apply it
- Discuss fundamental networking concepts (e.g. devices, protocols, IP addressing, and cloud resources).
- Configure a Cisco Catalyst switch with features such as: VLANs, trunking, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and EtherChannel.
- Explain routing theory, and configure routing protocols including: RIPv2, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
- Identify options for wide area network (WAN) connectivity (e.g. PPP, MPLS, Metro Ethernet, and VPN).
- Troubleshoot common network issues (e.g. mismatched duplex, improper IP addressing, and misconfigured features).
- Select appropriate services for a given network design scenario (e.g. DHCP, HSRP, NAT, NTP, and QoS).
- Protect your routers and switches from attack using a collection of security features (e.g. port security, 802.1x, and ACLs).
- Manage your network by leveraging network management protocols and services (e.g. CDP, LLDP, Syslog, SNMP, and Cisco IP SLA).
- Describe how Software Defined Networking (SDN) is causing a major shift in the IT industry and how Cisco’s APIC-EM SDN controller can be used to manage multiple network devices from a single point of administration.
This live event is for you because...
- This training prepares certification candidates for either the Cisco CCNA R/S (200-125) composite exam or the CCENT (100-105) and ICND2 (200-105) individual exams.
- This training equips network professionals with the fundamental skills required to configure, manage, and troubleshoot modern Cisco networks.
Prerequisites
- Since this is an introductory-level course in networking, the only prerequisites are a basic knowledge of what a network is and a desire to learn more.
Materials, downloads, or Supplemental Content needed in advance:
This training covers the core topics in the CCNA R/S curriculum. To round out the remaining topics in the curriculum, attendees will be required to view assigned sections of the CCNA Routing and Switching 200-125 Complete Video Course, available on Safari at: https://www.safaribooksonline.com/library/view/ccna-routing-and/9780134580715/
Although not required, attendees will benefit by having access to their own Cisco routers and switches. If physical routers and switches are not available, attendees can use a network simulator such as Pearson’s CCNA R/S 200-125 Network Simulator (available at: http://kwtrain.com/netsim ) or a network emulator such as VIRL (available at: http://kwtrain.com/virl ).
Resources:
If an attendee has no experience working with networking technologies, they could benefit by viewing the CompTIA Network+ N10-006 Complete Video course, available on Safari at: https://www.safaribooksonline.com/library/view/comptia-network-n10-006/9780134097824/
