Day 1

Intro: Introduction to the course and exam objectives Length: 10 minutes

Segment 1: Module 1 Threats, Attacks, and Vulnerabilities Length: 85 minutes

  • Instructor will survey cyber threats, attacks and vulnerabilities including malware, social engineering, code exploits, indicators of compromise, and offensive techniques such as proactive testing and assessment.
  • Attendees will participate in an interactive domain assessment.

10-minute break

Segment 2: Module 2 Technologies and Tools Length: 85 minutes

  • Instructor will survey security related network components, software related tools, troubleshooting, deployment of mobile devices, secure protocols, and use cases.
  • Attendees will participate in an interactive domain assessment.

Segment 3: Module 3 Architecture and Design Part 1 Length: 60 minutes

  • Instructor will survey security frameworks, secure network architecture concepts, secure systems design, cloud and virtualization, embedded systems, and resiliency.
  • Attendees will participate in an interactive domain assessment.

Day 2

Segment 1: Module 3 Architecture and Design Part 2 Length: 20 minutes

  • Instructor will survey secure application development, secure staging and deployment, and physical security.
  • Attendees will participate in an interactive domain assessment.

Segment 2: Module 4 Identity and Access Management (IAM) Length: 40 minutes

  • Instructor will discuss identity and authentication management, controlling access, implementing authorization mechanisms, and common account management practices.

Segment 3: Module 5 Risk Management Length: 85 minutes

  • Instructor will survey security policies and communication, personnel management, business impact analysis, risk management, forensics, disaster recovery and continuity of operations, and privacy practices.

Segment 4: Module 6 Cryptography and PKI Length: 65 minutes

  • Instructor will survey basic cryptography concepts including encryption, hashing, and digital signatures, algorithms and key management, certificates, and wireless security,
