Julian Rubinfien

Julian Rubinfien is a junior at Stuyvesant High School in New York City. He has been studying molecular biology intensively over the last few years and has a great interest in biomedical research. He is the winner of the 2016 Genes in Space competition, in which he proposed a novel method and model organism for studying telomere dynamics aboard the International Space Station, where his experiments will fly in March 2017. He is currently an intern at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Before that, Julian interned at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. He is also studying advanced Mandarin and enjoys sailing on the Hudson river with his school’s racing team.
