Marc Millstone is Head of AI at Redpanda. He started out as a researcher writing papers, shifted to solving problems, and eventually realized he'd rather build the platforms than fight them. He previously founded and ran Beaker at the Allen Institute for AI (AI2)—one of the first platforms built for training large models at scale, and the system behind ELMo and other early language models.Now he builds the kind of data and AI platforms that scientists, engineers, and non-technical builders actually want to use.
