Mike Cafarella is one of the cofounders of the Apache Hadoop and Nutch open source projects. He is an assistant professor in the Software Systems Lab in computer science and engineering at the University of Michigan. Mike is also a member of the Michigan Database Group. His research interests include databases, information extraction, data integration, and data mining. He is particularly interested in applying data-mining techniques to web data and scientific applications.
