Biography

Michael Halvorson has written more than 35 books, including Microsoft Visual Basic 2013 Step by Step, a multi-platform guidebook to intermediate Visual Basic programming. He is also the author of Start Here! Learn Microsoft Visual Basic 2012, Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Step by Step, and Microsoft Office XP Inside Out. His current projects include Windows Phone 8 programming with Visual Basic. A former Visual Basic localization manager at Microsoft, Michael is an associate professor at Pacific Lutheran University. His current historical work includes a new book on the history of the Renaissance in Europe. In 2012, he has also worked as a keynote speaker on the topic of innovation and emerging technology.
