Bio

Tim Guleri is a Managing Director of Sierra Ventures, a Menlo Park, California, venture capital fund. Sierra's nine portfolios of venture investments have committed capital exceeding $1.5 Billion. Tim's investment focus is Information Technology Software companies attacking large underserved markets. Additionally, Tim has helped execute on Sierra's India strategy and investments. Tim's investments that he's taken public are MakeMyTrip.com in India (Nasdaq: MMYT, top performing IPO of 2010) and Sourcefire in 2007 (Nasdaq: FIRE). Additional exits have been Greenplum to EMC Corporation, Net6 to Citrix Systems and AirMedia to AOL. Mr. Guleri currently serves as a Director of Sourcefire (Nasdaq: FIRE) and MakeMyTrip.com (Nasdaq: MMYT) and private companies including Approva, Code Green Networks, DotNetNuke, Red Aril, Runa, Makara and Appcelerator. Prior to Sierra, Mr. Guleri was the founder and CEO of Octane Software. He led Octane's merger with Epiphany (Nasdaq: EPNY) for $3.2 billion. Before Octane, Mr. Guleri was vice president of field operations, vice president of product marketing at Scopus Technology. Scopus emerged as the leading vendor in the CRM space, went public in 1995 and was merged into Siebel Systems (Nasdaq: SEBL) in 1997. Mr. Guleri was instrumental in growing the company to $100 million in revenue and to 600 employees from 1992 to 1998. Tim holds a MS in Robotics and Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from India.
