Bio
Matei Zaharia is an assistant professor of computer science at Stanford and Chief Technologist of Databricks, the data analytics and AI company founded by the original creators of Apache Spark. He started the Spark project in 2009 during his PhD at UC Berkeley. He is also a committer on Apache Hadoop and Apache Mesos. Matei's research has been recognized through the 2014 ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award and multiple Best Paper awards at leading research conferences.
