Summary This book based on the “Project Management Institute (PMI) PMBOK® Guide, Fifth Edition (2013)” is a quick reference book. Each technique starts with a "what, when, result" intro and then moves to define the issues and develop an approach to solve them and how to communicate to customer. Each tip is very process oriented. The tips and techniques are organised in a start to finish scenario. Reaction I would recommend this book to beginners but it is a good quick reference for those more experienced in the project management field. The book covers many scenarios common to every phase of a project. It provides approaches, not case studies. It is a reference book and may not be 'as fleshed out' as you may wish for. But I found it a very useful and succinct book. It covers a wide range of issues including conflict resolution, cancelling projects, motivation, planning, costs, resource issues among other things. O'Reilly publishing approached me with a view of reviewing books for them. Having a lot of respect for them I agreed. That does not mean automatic good reviews. In this case I have no hesitation in recommending this book. Full Review  >

he book is essentially a summarized version of the PMP techniques extracted from the Project Management Institute (PMI) PMBOK® Guide, Fifth Edition (2013). For every technique or tips, there is description of what it means, when it is used in a project lifecycle as well as the results rendered from the execution of that process. Full Review  >
