Are you an existing Mac user who upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion? Or are you a new Mac user who plunged into the worldof the Mac on a system with Mountain Lion installed? Regardless of your familiarity with Apple's line of Mac systems, you may have been surprised to see that Mountain Lion came with a multitude of new features and enhancements, but no definitive guide or manual 'out-of-the-box' that provides a detailed but clear overview of the variety of improvements and additions to the OS.
O’Reilly books in the Missing Manual series carry the slogan “[the] book that should have been in the box,†a statement which certainly in this case, at least, I agree with entirely, as Pogue's delivery and clarity presented in OS X Mountain Lion: The Missing Manual, in my opinion, serves as an excellent choice for a default guide to the new version of OS X, whether you've had a Mac for years or you're just getting started.
