Dick Applebaum

Dick Applebaum has spent several years programming and developing computer applications on "maimframe" [his word] computers. He worked for IBM Corp as a Technical Market Support rep for Database/Data Communications.

In 1978 Dick, Lucy (his wife), and two other partners opened Computer Plus, Sunnyvale -- a retail computer store, in the heart of Silicon Valley. It was the 5th computer store in the area. After 11 years, and burnout, Dick and Lucy sold the stores and spent a few years traveling.

Dick didn't touch a computer for 5 years. In 1997, he discovered the Web. He was hooked again and taught himself Perl and JavaScript. Since 1997, Dick has been doing Web development, primarily with ColdFusion. His latest challenge was to port ColdFusion MX to Mac OS X.
