John has been involved in software development for nearly 20 years. He is the author of Core J2ME a best selling book in the category of mobile application development which is still published in several foreign languages. John has written extensively about technology, developed and delivered a wide range training for developers, and has participated in countless developer events around the globe.

His broad experience has involved collaboration and consulting engagements with many well known publications and businesses, including: Dr. Dobbs, O'Reilly, PC Magazine, IBM developerWorks, Forum Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Symbian, Siemens, Motorola, Sun Microsystems and Borland.

John is a key contributor to several technology certification programs including development of the industry's first mobile developer certification exam, Sun Certified Mobile Application Developer. He also reviews submissions for various technology events/conferences, including Java One.
