Overview
Virtualization is one of the most interesting and beneficial concepts in today’s IT world. Nearly everyone in IT has heard of virtualization and most have some experience with virtual datacenters. Most people want to learn more about the concepts, but have no idea where to begin. This LiveLesson is an excellent starting point. VMware vSphere is the lead product for creating virtualized datacenters. This video will teach you the fundamentals fo virtualization topics as they relate to (create, manage, and control) a VMware vSphere virtual datacenter. This video begins with core virtualization concepts and then becomes increasingly specific with regard to vSphere, virtual machines, virtual resources, and the features that allow for management and control of a virtual datacenter. It begins at a comfortable level for any viewer and gradually builds on their technical knowledge of VMware and vSphere related topics. By the end of the video, the viewer will understand how virtualization concepts fit in today’s IT world, how they fit into the Cloud, and how they fit into their own organization.
About the Author:
Bill Ferguson, MCT, MCSE, MCP+I, CCNA, A+, Network+, Server+ is an IT veteran having been in the computer industry for more than 15 years. Originally in technical sales and sales management with Sprint, Bill transitioned to Certified Technical Trainer in 1997 with ExecuTrain. Currently Bill runs his own company as an independent contractor in Birmingham, Alabama, teaching classes for many nationally recognized training companies, as well as some regional training companies and corporations. In addition, Bill writes and produces technical training videos for Virtual Training Company, Inc. and Specialized Solutions, Inc., including A+, Network+, Windows 2000 Management, Windows XP Management, Windows 2000 Security, Server+, and Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices. Bill keeps his skills sharp by being a technical reviewer for books and sample tests and states, "My job is to understand the material so well that I can make it easier for my students to learn than it was for me to learn."
