Overview
Lange Zeit waren Anwendungsentwicklung und Anwendungsbetrieb getrennt behandelte Fragestellungen der Softwaretechnik bzw. des Informationsmanagements. Diese Trennung ist aber längst nicht mehr zeitgemäß und darf die Praxis des Anwendungsmanagements nicht davon abhalten, alle Fragestellungen, die mit Entwicklung, Wartung und Betrieb von Anwendungssystemen zu tun haben, ganzheitlich anzugehen. Das Application (Lifecycle) Management nimmt es sich zum Ziel, Anwendungen entlang ihres gesamten Lebenszyklus zu begleiten und dabei auch Themen wie zum Beispiel IT-Governance und das Denken in Unternehmensarchitekturen in den Fokus zu nehmen.Das Schwerpunktheft HMD 278 stellt Ansätze und Konzepte des modernen Application Management vor und veranschaulicht sie durch Fallstudien und Erfahrungsberichte. Dies wird ergänzt durch methodische Beiträge, die Fragestellungen entlang der Phasen des Application Lifecycle behandeln.
