- Work with suffix arrays including binary searches; sorting naive constructions; suffix tree construction; skew algorithms; and the Borrows-Wheeler transform (BWT) Deal with enhanced suffix arrays including longest common prefix (LCP)
- Carry out approximative pattern searches among suffix trees and approximative BWT searches
