Puzzles
Puzzles are another valuable means of enhancing your learning environment. Like icebreakers, competitive games, and exercises, they encourage active participation.
Puzzles are versatile in form and use, and can be used as either solo or group games. They can be solved orally; visually—with handouts, charts, or blackboards; or physically—with blocks, straws, or sticks. Puzzles are more comfortable ways of exploring ability than stressful, inhibiting exams. They encourage imaginative solutions to problems without the pressure to “be creative.” By illustrating alternatives, puzzles point out the value of investigating possibilities in areas such as career planning, taking risks, and assessing the potential of others.
